I have always read a lot. More than a lot to be perfectly honest, I've found myself knee-deep in a seven-book series that I cannot for the life of me put down more than once.

 

I have also always written. The first story I remember creating was in the 1st grade, the thrilling tale of Simon the Cat. I wouldn't say I'm on the path to be an author by any means, but I admit there are a few book drafts I've got hidden away until I get the courage to pursue publishing.

 

Put my passions for reading and writing together, and you've got Rather Bookish.

 

To be frank, I was a little intimidated when I first launched this site. It felt like a big leap of faith to not only produce content, but then also expect people to find it, be entertained enough to engage, and then *gasp*, come back again.

 

What is it with self-doubt that tries to convince us that something isn't worth the effort before we even begin and try?

 

I chose to ignore my inner cynic and made a blog in early 2023, just to see where it went. I had no idea the joy I would get from connecting with fellow readers and immense satisfaction at finally completing a bucket list item. It's been truly an amazing year for Rather Bookish and myself, I can't wait to see what's in store for this next year.

 

I find book blogs to be a great resource for myself, so I'm hoping to pass along the favor to those looking for honest book reviews and lively commentary that they can relate to.
